Basket Whip

Basket Whip is Classic Elite's free Web-Letter pattern of the week, released November 24, 2009.

The stitch pattern swings back and forth around the wearer’s neck reminding me of the West Coast Swing dance style, and its dance step called the Basket Whip. This cowl is knitted in the round. The combination of thin yarn and large needles make this cowl lacy and warm. Loose cast on and bind off edges are necessary so that the edges will make attractive points when blocked.

The other designs in the West Coast Swing Collection are Flying Lindy (socks), Sugar Push (fingerless mitts), and Syncopation (shell).
